At Best French Puppies, we believe that true breeding is an art form—dedicated to the preservation and betterment of the French Bulldog. Our mission is to help Alabama breeders enhance their bloodlines through superior health, flawless conformation, and genetic diversity. We provide a scientifically-backed service that connects your females with genetically-verified, champion-caliber males.
Knowledge is the cornerstone of a successful breeding program. We have eliminated the guesswork: every stud in our program is a champion of both appearance and health.
Comprehensive DNA Testing: Every male undergoes a full panel of health testing for breed-specific conditions.
Full Color Genotyping: We provide complete genetic mapping, allowing you to make data-driven decisions to achieve your goals (whether you prefer classic looks or rare colors).
Offspring Health as Priority: Your reputation as a breeder starts with a healthy, robust litter.
Geography is no longer a barrier to your kennel’s progress. We specialize in the professional collection and nationwide shipping of refrigerated semen. This method allows Alabama breeders to access elite genetics without the high travel expenses or the stress of transporting animals.
AKC Compliance & Integrity:
“To maintain the integrity of the breed, AKC mandates DNA certification for both the sire and the dam..”
We handle all necessary documentation for the sire, providing you with a seamless path to securing AKC papers for your future litters. Critical Requirement: Both the sire and dam must be AKC DNA certified.
To ensure the highest conception rates, Best French Puppies partners with a premier veterinary clinic specializing in canine reproduction.
Precise Collection: Every sample is collected under strict professional supervision.
Expert Preparation: Semen is processed and packaged using industry-leading methods to ensure maximum viability during transit.
Controlled Shipping: We provide the receiving veterinarian with the best possible material to work with.
The Breeder’s Responsibility: Successful breeding is a two-way street. To guarantee your investment and avoid disappointment, we advise Alabama breeders to:
Meticulously Track Heat Cycles: Monitor the female’s signs of proestrus from day one.
Perform Progesterone Testing: This is a necessity. Testing removes the guesswork, allowing your veterinarian to pinpoint the exact optimal time for insemination with scientific accuracy.
Best French Puppies is more than a service; we are your partner in advancing the French Bulldog breed. By combining our genetic standards and AKC-compliant logistics with your careful management, we set the stage for exceptional results.

The AKC acts as a registry and rule-setting body; it does not “sell” breeding rights. These rights are determined by the breeder at the point of sale.
Full Registration: The dog is eligible for breeding and its offspring can be registered. This is typically granted for responsible, high-standard breeding.
Limited Registration: The dog is a registered purebred, but its offspring cannot be registered with the AKC. This is a common tool used to protect the breed’s genetic integrity.
The private contract between breeder and buyer is the governing document for:
Registration types and conditions for upgrading status.
Co-ownership or spay/neuter agreements.
The AKC does not mediate private contract disputes. Their role is strictly to process applications based on the original breeder’s designation. Limited Registration is permanent; only the original breeder can apply to transition a dog to Full Registration. Furthermore, a litter can only be registered if both parents hold Full Registration.
“Limited Registration means that the dog is registered but no litters produced by that dog are eligible for AKC registration.”
The AKC supports the registration of litters conceived via AI, including those using shipped chilled or frozen semen, provided specific integrity checks are met.
Registration Status: Both parents must have Full AKC Registration.
DNA Verification: The sire MUST be AKC DNA Certified before the puppies are born. The dam and all offspring must also undergo DNA profiling to confirm parentage.
The AI Supplement: A specific form must accompany the litter application, detailing the insemination date, the type of AI used, and the credentials of the performing veterinarian.
Professional Oversight: Collection must be supervised by a licensed veterinarian who verifies the health and identity of the sire.
All shipments must include a Veterinary Health Certificate. Breeders in Alabama must ensure they comply with both state-specific import rules (such as Brucellosis testing) and, if shipping internationally, USDA regulations.
